Improving water efficiency is something we can improve upon across Australia. Daily water habits contribute to how efficient our water systems are and as a result impact on the cost of your water bill.

Blocked Drain Services Statewide has three tips for improving water efficiency in your home (or business);

  1. CONNECT YOUR RAINWATER TO YOUR HOUSEHOLD

Speak with your plumber to learn how to get the most out of your rainwater tank. There are some great filter products on the market that will enable your home to run largely on rainwater. Utilising your rain water tanks for maximum efficiency improves the sustainability of your home and can also reduce your next water bill.

  1. CHECK YOUR HOME FOR WATER LEAKS AND SLUGGISH OR BLOCKED DRAINS

Left unchecked. a leaking tap, a sluggish drain or blocked drain can lead to bigger (and more expensive) problems later down the track. Small leaks can be easy to forget but can have a big impact on the water efficiency of your home or business.

Blocked Drain Services Statewide provide all clients with a maintenance schedule to ensure that your home plumbing and gas systems are regularly serviced and running efficiently.

  1. AVOID LEAVING THE TAP RUNNING

We are all guilty of leaving a tap running longer than we should and small changes can make a big difference. By turning off the tap when you are brushing your teeth and washing your face can save you money on your quarterly water bill.

Other small changes include; set a reminder to hang out the washing to avoid the re-wash, turn off the tap between rinsing and loading the dishwasher, set a shower timer to avoid those long showers.
